Last week Urban Initiatives’ very own Jim Dower spent a day on the Hill in Washington D.C. educating members of congress about the impact of our Work to Play Program. Urban Initiatives met with several Congressman, Senators, and their respective staff, who represent the communities that host the Work to Play Program in their districts.
"We got a great response from everyone we spoke with" said Jim. "Health and education are key issues that all elected officials support and we were happy to explain how we are a key player in the fight against obesity and increasing active and healthy lifestyles."
Urban Initiatives was also fortunate enough to see Secretary Duncan as well and update him on the two schools that recently joined our team – Tarkington School and Nobel School.
