The Latin School Of Chicago Teams Up With UI Kids To Cheer On The Chicago Fire

IMG_0110.JPGOn August 18th The Latin School of Chicago boys soccer team and the Walsh Elementary Urban Initiatives soccer team came together to cheer on the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park versus the New England Revolution. For a majority of kids on the Walsh team this was their first ever soccer game and the experience was made even better by being able to cheer on the Fire with the Latin team. Anytime the kids had any questions about the game or questions about what was being said in a certain cheer the Latin team was quick to respond and explain. They laughed, cheered and traded soccer stories all the while enjoying a see saw of a soccer match that had end to end action.

In the end the Fire won 2-1 but the real winners that night were the Latin and Walsh soccer teams. A huge thank you goes out to Timothy Cronister, Coach Bower and Coach Tebbens and the Latin soccer team for making it a memorable night for our Walsh team and donating 35 tickets.
