The Work to Play team at Pasteur elementary school had the opportunity to go to the chicago Fire home opener against the new York red bulls! During their winter end-of-season team party, they were told that They woUld be able to attend the first game of the season. Ever sInce thAt anNOUncement, they have been waiting anxiously for the day to come when they can cheer for their favorite Mls team!
The team sat next to the famed Section 8, the Chicago Fire support group, allowing the students to learn new cheers for the Fire! At one point, the students from Pasteur were louder than Section 8 when they were taking a break from cheering. The students even started the wave, getting their section even more pumped up during the game. Even though the Fire tied 1-1, the students were able to learn a lot of soccer skills that the players showed during the game. As they piled back onto the bus, they were asked if they had fun, to which they quickly responded, “YEAH!”
