June’s Take the Lead Team Captains of the Month are all 150 of them! We wanted to recognize all of our dedicated Team Captains and thank them for choosing to be leaders in their school and communities.
Over the course of this school year, 150 Team Captains from 24 Chicago Public Schools in 19 distinct communities have met for 5 Take the Lead Retreats, each focusing on different themes, including: teamwork, self-esteem, ambition, motivation, time-management, task-persistence, dedication, self-control, and respect. Through different reflective, discussion, and physical activities captains practice and further develop these skills so that they can model them to their teammates and peers. We would like to wish our Team Captains a very safe, active and healthy summer!
Lastly, a BIG Congrats goes out to Juan Najera from Marquette, Taquan Harrison from Claremont, Deangelo Hartley from Howe, Romel Goston from Morton and Ashontis Davis from Sherman for all graduating this year and will be taking the next step in their education. Enjoy High School!
