Meet Savannah

Each year Urban Initiatives expands its sports based youth development programming into new schools and communities across Chicago. The number of kids we serve grows every year and that growth leads to exciting opportunities and additions to the Urban Initiatives team. From Operations to Programming, our new team members will help Urban Initiatives continue to serve thousands of kids across Chicago.

Meet Savannah! She recently joined Urban Initiatives as the Work to Play Program Manager. Savannah is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is ready to lead Work to Play for the 2015-16 school year.

What drew you to Urban Initiatives?

What initially drew me to UI was the mission our organization stands for. Showing children they hold the power to do and be anything is a mission I fully support and doing this through a sports based program is just the icing on the cake!

What are you most excited for in your new role?

I’m most excited to start building relationships with with my team members, the schools we work with, and the children we serve.

What’s your favorite sports or play memory?

My favorite sports memory is being in Sevilla, Spain in 2011 when the Packers won the Superbowl 🙂

What’s one thing  most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know that I have to make up my bed every morning! Otherwise I feel discombobulated the entire day.

What’s your favorite snack food?

My favorite snack food is cheese… all things cheese!

Welcome to the team Savannah!
