Become an Urban Initiatives Champion Partner
A champion is one who supports and advocates for others; a winner. We invite corporations, foundations, and individuals to sponsor the Work to Play Program at a particular school and to directly participate in its success through our Champion Partners Program.
A Champion Partner is:
- A sponsor of the Work to Play Program at a specific partner school;
- A direct participant in the program by visiting soccer sessions as a volunteer coach and/or attending other program related events such as team parties and Principal for a Day;
- A recipient of seasonal program schedules and regular updates about the direct impact sponsorship is having on the students at the partner school.
Why become a Champion Partner
- Understand first-hand how life skills such as teamwork, commitment, respect, and focus help the children become better students and make better life choices.
- Observe the impact of regular fitness, healthy eating, and nutrition education on the children.
- See the children's joy at learning a new sport carry over into the classroom in better attendance and improved academic engagement.
- Watch the children's self-esteem and drive to succeed improve.
- Besides the satisfaction of making an impact, Champion Partners are recognized in Urban Initiatives mailings, during special events, on the website, and with a plaque on the Champion Wall at the Urban Initiatives office.
